Who was stuck
Someone with flare-prone skin who keeps getting caught out. A flare could come from dry air, a hot day, a new fabric, stress, or something they ate two days ago, and by the time it shows up nobody can say which.
Why it happens
The clues are spread across too many places: the weather app, what you ate, what you wore, how you slept, how much you scratched at night. Nobody tracks all of that by hand for long enough to see a pattern.
What I built
A skin-health assistant that does the tracking for you and speaks up before things go wrong.
- A wrist band with skin temperature, humidity and motion sensors that notices night-time scratching and buzzes when it's time to act.
- A morning brief built from the weather and band data: what to wear, when to moisturise, whether today is a good day to exercise.
- Meal checks against a personal list of foods to avoid, from a typed description or a photo.
- A weekly look back that lines up flare-ups against everything logged that week, to surface likely triggers.
- Short spoken answers, so you can ask it things without opening an app.
It runs as a web app installed on an iPhone, backed by an API I deployed myself.
Who it's for
Me. I have really sensitive skin, so I built this for myself first. It runs as an app on my phone, and I'm still using it to work out what actually sets my skin off.
